Vier – LinkedIn Stalker Hack

Belgian media company VIER used LinkedIn and Twitter to promote the upcoming release of a new crime TV series called “Stalker” by using a personal approach that was perhaps a bit too stalker like. The brand created a fictional Linkedin profile for “Stalker,” who then viewed numerous LinkedIn members. These people were then automatically notified about the Stalker’s interest in their LinkedIn profiles. Those LinkedIn member victims brave enough to click on the Stalker profile found broadcast details, an exclusive series trailer, and personal, yet disturbing details about the Stalker.
