Delta Airlines – Innovation Class

Billed as a “mentoring program at 35,000 feet,” Delta Airlines teamed up with LinkedIn to match established innovators and entrepreneurs with up and coming talent. The brand asked influencers whether they would be willing to sit next to eager up-and-comers on flights in order to serve as mentors and share their wisdom to those who might make a difference in the future. The airline reserved seat space next to the influencers and offered the seat to applicants with one pick, who were then screened by their LinkedIn profiles according to industry, skills, and knowledge base to narrow down the mentoring pool, from which the mentor would pick just one to join him or her on the flight.
