What, you haven’t poured a bucket of freezing water on yourself yet? Pretty much everyone else has risen to this social media challenge. ALS started this trend by encouraging people to take the challenge in order to experience how a person with ALS feels every day. Participants recorded videos of themselves undergoing the challenge and then tagged friends asking them to do it, as well, or to donate to the ALS Foundation. More than 17 million videos were uploaded, generating more than 70 billion views, with the challenge raising more than $220 million for ALS research.
