As the largest employer of young people in Australia, McDonalds came up with an innovative means of recruiting new talent. With Snaplications, prospective employees could reach out to McDonalds with a snap in which a Snapchat filter would put them in a virtual McDonald’s uniform and give them 10 seconds to pitch their skills. Thousands of teens submitted a Snaplication the day of the campaign’s launch and some applicants found themselves wearing a real McDonald’s uniform a couple of days later.
