Chipotle sponsored a game on workplace communication platform Slack that offered $1,000 per day to whichever user first guessed each day’s selected vocabulary word based on a single clue. Immensely popular and billed as a Slack game that will “kill your office’s productivity,” the platform pulled the plug on the game shortly after Chipotle sponsored a session, much to the ire of thousands of Slack users.
