Swiss Hockey Club Davos were a hard-working team. They had won 31 championships but they weren’t making any revenue beyond merchandise and ticket sales to games. To improve their sales, the club created Rink Bingo. Whenever a player crashed into the boards, a number was shown on the jumbotron and smartphone app. Bingo winners received merchandise vouchers, discounts, and 2-for-1 offers.
The promotion received great feedback from fans, with 146,428 bingo winners across the season. Concession sales rose by 30% for food and beverage and 128% in the fan shop.
