Marc Ecko – Vote756

Barry Bonds is an American baseball player who holds the all time record for most home runs with 762. However, his achievement has often been disputed due to accusations that he used illegal performance-enhancing drugs during his career. In 2007, Marc Ecko bought Bonds’ record-breaking 756th home run ball and decided to let the public decide its fate. Fans could go to a website and decide whether the ball should be donated to the Hall of Fame, marked with an asterisk to acknowledge doping accusations, or shot into space.

Ecko’s stunt sparked a nation-wide debate, with a lot of media coverage, and around 10 million people voted online.
