Blueprints for 3D-printed guns were released online and created the potential for plastic firearms to make their way into consumer markets.

Dagoma replaced the original blueprints with fake ones by downloading, editing and re-uploading incorrect files to the same locations. They used VPNs, private servers and fake user profiles to disperse the files to websites and user forums. The changes to the files were inconspicuous but ensure a non-functioning firearm is printed.
