Adidas – Green Light Run

Part of the Adidas philosophy is to get you moving, so they naturally view red lights at traffic junctions as a big problem for runners. Green Light Run was created after Adidas worked with the Tokyo police department and used their data to calculate the cycle of every traffic light in the city. They created an algorithm that could generate an uninterrupted running route of 42 kilometres through the city, and they launched a marathon event to celebrate it.

The resulting footage of runners doing the marathon through the maze of Tokyo garnered global attention, leading to 151% Facebook engagement and ad value equivalent to 337.6%.
