Former president Barack Obama’s second term was coming to an end. A few weeks prior he made a joke saying how he’d like his next job to be at Spotify. Spotify jumped to capitalize on this, and posted a job on their careers page called “President of Playlists.” Spotify’s CEO sent out a tongue-in-cheek tweet to Obama offering him the position.

The story was featured in over 175 TV segments and over 300 press outlets. It became a trending topic on Twitter and Spotify’s website had over 14 million visits in under a week.
