The anonymity offered by the Internet has seen a rise in peadophilia – in one shocking form, illegal child sex ‘tourism’ using webcams. To combat this, children’s rights organization Terre des hommes created “Sweetie,” a virtual 10-year-old Filipina girl, and used her to lure in sexual predators.

The project was a success with truly terrifying numbers: around 20,000 men contacted Sweetie, and around 1,000 offered her money in exchange for a video or pictures. The information was then passed on to the local police.
